Coronavirus and your eyes: What you need to know
You no doubt have heard about the outbreak of SARS-CoV-2, the respiratory disease also known as Coronavirus 2019 or COVID-19, and have concerns about your eye health and that of your family. The doctors at Eye Medical Center of Fresno are paying close attention to the spread of the virus, and would like to offer their patients some information and tips for staying well.
How coronavirus can affect your eyes
The symptoms of COVID-19 include coughing, fever, and shortness of breath. Though much is still being learned about the virus, it is believed to spread primarily through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It could also be spread if you touch an object or surface with virus present from an infected person, and then touch your mouth, nose, or eyes.
According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, two recent reports suggest the virus can cause conjunctivitis, also known as pink eye. Pink eye is an infection of the transparent membrane (also known as the conjunctiva) that lines your eyelid and covers the white part of your eyeball. It can affect one or both eyes, and symptoms include redness, itchiness, tearing, a gritty feeling in the affected eye, and discharge that forms a crust, making it difficult to open your eye. Although it is as of yet not known for certain, it is possible that SARS-CoV-2 is transmitted by aerosol contact with the conjunctiva, or by touching your eyes after coming into contact with the virus.
Should you wear a face mask to protect yourself?
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) offers these tips for protecting yourself from coronavirus:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
- Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a face mask.
- CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a face mask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
- Face masks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of face masks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
Right now, older people and those with certain underlying health conditions like heart disease, lung disease and diabetes, for example, seem to be at greater risk of serious illness. Make sure that if you are coming into contact with those who are at the most risk, you take care to follow the above tips.
When to see an eye specialist
If you think you have been exposed to coronavirus or have begun exhibiting symptoms (fever, shortness of breath, and coughing), be sure to call your primary physician. If you have standard conjunctivitis symptoms (and do not have a fever), you can make an appointment with an eye specialist at Eye Medical Center of Fresno by calling (559) 486-5000.
I am a retired navy veteran and was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in September 2020. After a bout of left ear infection and TMD (Temporomandibular disorder), symptoms persisting were eyelid drooping, slurred speech, drooling and overall muscle weakness in the left hand grip, increased fatigue and unsteady walking. I’m now taking www. madibaherbalcenter . com herbal cure (3 months) and I have been receiving a great improvement since I started the remedy, I find joy in being able to go out by myself and catch a movie. “It’s been wonderful, and it’s been life-changing.
Living with herpes virus was a terrible life for me but I am glad to let everyone know today that I am no longer a herpes virus patient anymore and I am HSV negative now, I got cured of herpes virus with an amazing herbal medicine from madidaherbalcenter.weebly.com. I read so much on their facebook page @MADIDAHERBALCENTER and their website; MADIDAHERBALCENTER.WEEBLY.COM that was when I discovered about all their service and legitimacy before patronizing them that they had herbal cures or medicines rather to many other disease, viruses like;

did you figure anything out? I’m having the same issues now
hi anne, i had this exact problem with covid but it only occurred when i had covid (jan 1st 2022). 3 months later (now) i had a routine eye exam. my eye dr found swelling in my optic nerve. i am now being tested for a brain tumor, pseudo tumor cerebri, multiple sclerosis, and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. i have no symptoms other than the swollen optic nerve. with covid i had the WORST ache in my eyes and it also hurt to move them side to side, up and down. my neurologist also believes it could be a covid related reaction. i now have to have 3 mri’s and a lumbar puncture.
i’m not saying you have to, but if you haven’t seen your eye dr since having covid i would definitely recommend it. if i never went to the eye dr for my yearly check up i never would have known.
Hi tested positive for Covid today and Iv got exactly the same symptoms with my eyes that I had before when I had virus swollen eye balls it hurts looking side to side and feels like my eyes are going to explode ever since I had covid before in Nov 2020 my eyesight has been rubbish and I now suffer from dry eyes where I have to use gel morning and night I’m now worried my eyesight will become worse any advice?

Hello I am Libbie I tested positive for Covid on December 5, 2021. As of today December 16, 2021 I am feeling much better and glad I accutally got the vaccine I think it would of been worse. My question is I had beautiful Blue eyes before I had covid and now they are a Dark Green which is pretty but I was wondering if my eyes will go back to blue.
Libbie! Me too! I had deep blue eyes, now a yellow ring and a green hue. How odd a virus can do this. I was devastated but am now accepting. You aren’t alone. It’s rare, but a strong virus can do this.
Color change in your eyes is an indicator of toxin build up in the body. You need to detox…I would encourage you to reach out to a functional doctor or naturopath that can guide you in detoxing. It is not permanent if you do something about it.
My husband and I just got over Omicron…we did not get the vaccine (and we never will) we both had a very mild cases. According to everything that the media says my husband should have died…yet his symptoms were milder than mine. He battled Stage 4 cancer all of 2020…he is 43 yo and immunocompromised. I am 39 and have a history of autoimmune issues. All these people praising a vaccine and saying “it could have been worse”….are not seeming to understand that people who are NOT vaccinated are not ALL being hospitalized and dying. Baseline health is a huge factor along with early at home treatment. I personally know more people who were vaccinated that had worse symptoms from Omicron, than those who were not vaccinated…two of which lived in the same household. I am SO over seeing statements saying “it could have been worse if I wasnt vaccinated”, when they will NEVER really know that. Everyone responds different, and it is strongly based on comorbities and health history…for all you know you might have responded the exact same way or better.
We had a practitioner that was really pushing the vaccine. We politely declined. I found out 8 months later that she has ongoing heart issues following the vaccine and now has to see a cardiologist for the rest of her life…her response was “it was better than the alternative”. Well, my husband and I ARE the alternative. My husband and I have not masked all of 2021, we visted family, went to events and live normally here in Texas. We maintain a protocol of preventative/supportive supplements and just now after 2 years caught COVID, and had minimal symptoms. We do not have heart issues, and we dont have to have a cardiologist. My husbands Oncologist is continually amazed at how well my husband is doing…especially after suffering a DVT and 6 pulmonary embolisms due to his cancer in 2020 (making him prone to blood clots). The masses are being lied to, and THEY continue to perpetuate the fear…stop blindly listening to the media and do your own research.
I firmly believe everyone should have the right to do what is best for their body. I believe in freedom of medical choice. Our governement is a $hit $how and can’t do the job we hired them for, but somehow we think that they know what is best for our individual bodies? #freedomofchoice #medicalfreedom #healthisnotinasyringe
Hello,
i cleared my covid in may 2021. in month of december (7-12-21) i observed the redness in my left eye. is it the side effect of covid medication?
Hi Debbie. Did your vision get back to normal? And how long did it take? Thank yiu
I just got over covid, but the day after I was not quarantined anymore I couldn’t even open my eye, due to it being stuck like glue. It is only the left eye right now, but it hurts to blink or even look around. I don’t know if it is due to me having covid, or something else. It hurts to try to read anything as well. Any advice would be amazing.
I’m on day 5 after testing positive, started off was in a bad way with all symptoms wasn’t nice at all, but now my main problem is my eyes hurt right at the back, as if there strained? Moving them side to side up or down it just painful.
Exactly where I am day 5 and exactly how I fell. My eyes being strained is the biggest issue at this point.
I am also on day 5 now i felt so weak previously the first 3 days, now i have a lot of congestion, coughing, my eyes hurt so bad, shortness of breath, i was dehydrated and my other fluids were low… my question os when does this usually clear up?
How long did your eyes hurt? Are they back to normal?
I’m on day three, lungs are better but an having the exact deal with my eyes. Looking anywhere than straight is like causing mini headaches.
Did you figure out what this was?? Did it get better? Almost a week after covid diagnosis and I started experiencing this yesterday!! It hurts!
How’s the eye thing? Are you a smoker? My eye pain isn’t going away and I’m on day 3 of it only symptom I can’t get rid of since getting omnicron last weekend. It started with eyes hurting and getting red then I had fever and body aches Monday. Since about Wednesday night I’ve had the eye pain can’t seem to look left or right without it hurting. Makes my eyes heavy to.

i’m trying to spread awareness because i’m honestly terrified. i’m only 21 and there’s a chance i could lost my vision. please get checked while you can!!
Me too about day 4 or 5. Left, right, up or down, both eyes, so painful like they were being pulled. Stopped on day 10 or 11, when I tested negative.

Hey Erin! Did you figure out what caused this. I’m going through this now and your comment with the brain tumor scared the heck out of me
Did your pain with eye moment finish…How much time did it take to finish completely.plz reply soon
I am 33 and 6 weeks ago I tested positive for Covid and had sore throat, fever, pain in my eyes, loss of smell, taste, dry mouth, internal tremors, altered perception of temperature hot/cold & insomnia. It was bloody scary and still is, its triggered lots of anxiety. My eyes are strained all day ever since, it is blurry long distance and very short distance, I get tremors/palpitations around the eyes when I close them at night. I had very low prescription glasses for long distance but it it feels so much worse now. I also have a lot of discomfort when looking at screens and struggle to concentrate. I am also very fatigued and haven’t been able to sleep like before I got the virus. I hope this will gradually go away… this is definately not just about the lungs and can affect your body in so many different, horrible ways
If somebody has had these symptoms please let me know none of the eye doctor’s know why I am having this eye symptom. On January 6th I was diagnosed with covid I got better 2 weeks later I still have symptoms of Weird smells like sour sewage and weird taste. But mostly my Eyes are still very red. I went and saw 3 different eye specialist and they do not know why my eyes are very red and they seem to get more red as the weeks go by. I look like I smoked pot. I have to put in lumafi eye drops which only worked for a short time and doesn’t fully get rid of the red. If anybody has experiences please reply to me thank you.
Annette Ive had a hell of a time are your eyes tight and red and Itchy and watery
Use an eye wash use it 3 times a day.
Dont touch your eyes only when cleaning them.
Then in between use eye drogs to lubricate them.
Use all new eye makeup
Especially mascara.
Go and get your eyes tested at your opticians they are good.
Do eye exercises opening and closing your eyes and wear glasses outside.
It Will ware away i still see flashes and i have a black Gloster in my right eye but it is going slow but sure.
I hope this helps keep safe.

Hi just diagnosed with covid 10 days ago very dizzy and blurred cision is rhis normal and will it stop?
See go and have a checkup the doctor will tell you it’s an allergic reaction from pollen or others but it is due to covid immunity gets weakened,
If it is not treated properly one might face a long term trouble, so did I.
I also mentioned some eye drops that might help you all please stay safe!
Government is not updating their policy and telling people that covid does effects eyes
I had Covid in January and I still experience blurred vision and gets worse during the day,
I hope I’m not too late to answer my friend I had same symptoms in addition when I used to wake up in morning I had my eyes stuck like they had glue.
The best prescription for getting rid of them is:
FMLT – THRICE A DAY
GenTeal- thrice 2 drops
Alcarex 0.25% w/v -thrice a day
And take Allegra 120mg before sleeping
Continue this for two weeks and you’ll get better

I had coronavirus and have had a weepy eye in my left for the last 4 months. My vision is certainly much worse since. The odd thing was my only symptom was what I thought was conjunctivitis, if it wasn’t for my partner having classic symptoms and a positive test I wouldn’t have had a test myself.
Had covid in April 2020 for a month and half. Its now Feb and I still have issues with taste and smell. August my hair was falling out in clumps (some say stress on body from covid). Now I’m noticing my eyesight has gotten weak. Also lately my muscles in my body feel like they have a lot of lactic acid and get tired quickly when I try working out. Pretty sure covid causes permanent damage.
I tested positive on 1/2/21 and had a very severe symptoms for 3 weeks. Went to the ER because the cough was really bad and I was having difficulty breathing. My O2 saturation hovered around 90 for several days. I wasn’t hospitalized but now that I’m recovering I’ve noticed my vision is blurry. I have always had bad eyes and I’ve had several eye surgeries over the years but this is new. I have an Ophthalmology appointment this Friday.
I had a positive COVID test. On day 6 I woke up with my right eye red, swollen eyelid and eye was gritty feeling. My vision is blurrier in that eye. The fatigue and eye problem are persisting. The fatigue seems to be off and on. I’ve had antibiotic drops and now some other drops from optometrist. I’m not sure what to do next. I had other symptoms . I had fever , chills, sweating, body aches, loss of taste and smell , indigestion, ( had to eat small amounts and had a very fully feeling ,tight upper chest, joint pain. My X-ray showed clear lungs.
My name is Jovan Weston Im positive for covid-19 and it’s my second day I’m in pain I’m not hungry no taste no smell I have headache my eyes hurt as well as my stomach I’m so scared I’m only 39yrs old I hope I make to see 40
Jovan, Idk you but ur message touched me. I pray that you are okay and have recovered.
Sincerely
Kym
I’m guessing you made it. You have a 99.975% chance of not dying. Those are pretty good odds.
False. The chances of getting sick or dying from COVID-19 vary based on individual factors like age, health history and location. you can’t use global numbers, it’s misleading.
I tested positive on 19th Jan 2021 and my eyes hurt when I move them side to side or up and down. Hoping it’s not going to be a long term side effect
My eyes hurt the same as yours… when moving them side to side, up & down… my vision now is much worse and off to see a specialist soon…
Did your pain with eye moment finish…How much time did it take to finish completely.plz reply
I had onset of extremely severe headache with fever 2 days ago with a negative rapid. I’m no wimp but the headache was excruciating. It lasted all day. I was worried about meningitis. However I tested positive with rapid yesterday. I still had headache but less severe. Today my eyes are painful and it’s worse when I move them. I don’t think I’ve strained them. Could it be due to the extreme pressure I had in my head on day one? I feel like covid attacked my brain. I also noted it hard to read yesterday. I can see but it was definitely a problem with small print.
Hi Joanne, please tell me how long did you have your eye symptom for? I hope you are feeling better!
Thank you
Brooke
Hi Joanne, I’m having the exact same feeling in my eyes at the moment, did your eyes recover from this at all ?
Hi Joanne how long did this take to go? I’m currently suffering with the same
Did this ever get better. I’m having this issue now.
Hey did you ever figure out what was causing your eye pain when moving them? I have Covid and my eyes hurt so bad when I move them..
Hi hun, I’ve got covid at the moment and I’m in pain all over, but my eyes are so sore . Moving them side to side hurts. How long did your last for. I hope you are fully recovered.
I had blurry vision and couldn’t read. My eyes are glassy and quest to have white bumps on the whites of eyes.
Tested positive for Covid, symptoms subsided by day 6 and on day 10 started with a Cold and mild Pink eye.
I am on day 7 since first sign of symptoms and day 4 since testing +. Mild symptoms so far, a couple new mild ones have come & gone after a day. Today I noticed my vision is especially blurry more than usual. I wear a very low prescription glasses for distance and for driving. Again, the lowest prescription there is. Both my near and far vision have been extra blurry since this morning. Will continue to monitor and notify my Dr of this new symptom of it persists.
Day 3 after positive result… slight redness in eye but theres extreme pain moving them from side to side and up and down.
Did your pain with eye moment finish…How much time did it take to finish completely.plz reply
Yup I have covid. I am on day 7 now. No cough. But I have what seems like a extreme sinus infection. Low grade fever. I had burning in my nose. Lost my sense of smell and taste. Fatigue. Body aches. I feel extremely light headed and dizzy. The bridge of my nose and cheeks feel numb. Today my eyes even hurt. My husband is a carrier with no symptoms. My son who is 16 only has a scratchy throat and headache. Stuffy nose.. He got diarrhea one time but that’s it. This covid is nothing I have ever experienced. Not fun. 😷🤒🤕😭
Mine symptoms are exactly the same.
Six months post covid and I suffer from extreme blurred vision. I have to close one eye to focus on anything. I am very concerned. One week before my covid diagnosis in June 2020 I was diagnosed SPK eye disorder. I now believe it’s due to Covid. Will I be this blurry forever?
I have same issue. Covid in Feb 2021 now my Eye sight is blurry on the left hand side and I need glasses. Hope your feeling better thee days.
Hi. Still the same 1 uear 7 months later. Looks like it’s one of those long term issues caused by covid. There’s some relief with optiv eye gel.
Hi melony

Please update your site. You state that the CDC does not recommend masks but that information is at least seven months old.
I was tested positive for COVID-19 on 21st October, my visions still not great, very grainy and stingy! I’m constantly blinking, also to mention my heart rates not been the same since with daily palpitations. Anyone else?
I have had sore stinging eyes for 4 weeks now. There all day.
Antibiotics didnt work, and drops are not doing anything
Eyes are not red or yellow, just normal looking,
Getting worried,
Covid seem
My wife had Covid about six weeks ago the last couple of days her eyes are swallow and sore and red shall she go to the doctors or to get her eyes tested
I have red burning etlyes also. I’m already blind in my right eye and this is making my vision blurry in my good eye.
I had Covid in July. My eyeballs felt as if I had cried for days, but they were normal looking. I started having vision disturbances in one eye. I had an eye app 10-28-20. I have swelling around the optic nerve. I am not sure if the disturbances began before covid or after, It was right around the same time..
I had COVID 2 weeks ago. I had 14 days of the normal symptoms of fever, body aches, chills, diarrhea, and headache. Now my eyes have been running ever since some morning the corners of my eyes hurt. I have eye discharge esp after a nights sleep. My eyes aren’t red but this morning they are really itchy.
I had COVID January 29th, 2021 and my eyes seemed blurry. I still have Covid symptoms 7 months later. I was diagnosed with post acute Covid syndrome. My eyes down to my cheek bones have been swollen so bad now today they are glassed over and weeping. The swelling also started the next day after having an eye exam. Should I go see an eye Dr or just my primary Dr? I am on a course of very strong antibiotics and it isn’t helping anything.
I got diagnosed with Covid earlier today. I’m 32 with no cough but the one thing that really hurts is when I move my eyes from side to side. It’s like a huge pressure behind them. Don’t take this virus lightly.
Did your pain with eye moment finish…How much time did it take to finish completely.plz reply
Hi how long did the pressure take to go? I’m having the same problem
It’s been more then three weeks since I was tested positive for covud19 & even though I Rebounds back ,I notice that my eyes feel irritated & headaches. My vision is also kind of blurry. & my wife also is have the same symptoms..
I had corrected eye lenses out in before I got sick in March and after I had gotten sick my vision has gotten worse and I had to start wearing glasses and now the glasses I just got are blurry so back to the eye Dr I go for the 3rd time.
I’m on day 6 of covid 19. Body aches and pains have been pretty severe. For the past three days my eyes hurt really bad when I move them to the side or up and down. Symptoms come and go and move around from one part of body to the next. It’s bizarre, and no fun! Wear your masks!
Hi Laurie, I am also on day 6 of covid 19 and have had much of the same symptoms that you have described. I have never felt as ill. I am now experiencing the eye pain when moving my eyeballs..im just wondering how long your symptoms lasted and do you feel back to normal now? I feel like this is never going to end at the minute! Hope you are well.
I am on day 11 of confirmed Covid. My eyeballs hurt! They’re sore in a way that I’ve only experienced when using arm or leg muscles that haven’t been used in a very long time. Like need a deep tissue massage type of sore which of course I won’t do to my eyes because I don’t want to damage them. They’re draining more than my nose now. It’s not the surface of my eyeballs. It’s in the tissue behind and around my eyeballs. This isn’t pink eye. I used to get that every year growing up when I’d go to the stock show & rodeo. Cows carry pink eye & I’d get it from the air every single time I was near them. This is the only website I found that’s discussing the sore eyeball part of Covid. The others are talking about pink eye. Science & doctors need to take note- this is a bigger deal than pink eye.
Laurie,
Are you still experiencing this eye pain?
I have the same fcking shit! My eyes hurt moving, body aches, basically everything hurts.
I’m on day 7 of COVID-19. My very first symptoms were burning, watery eyes…for a full 2 days before body aches, headache and wheezing came on. My eyes have continued to be problematic…the burning comes and goes, but also, I feel like my vision is compromised! Sometimes I am having trouble reading, even with my glasses. Day 3 I couldn’t read at all. I hope my eyesight clears up as I recover. Lost taste and smell on day 6. This is so scary.
Did your eye pain go away?
I have covid and I am also on day 6 with the same symptoms as you. How long did it last? Did you have to go to the hospital?
Did your pain with eye moment finish…How much time did it take to finish completely.plz reply
I agree with both of you. I had COVID the first two weeks of April (I live in Europe). Since then, I and several others who’ve had it have had to start using readers or else increase their strength. Someday, I guess, this will be documented
Right after I recovered from Covid my eyesight all of a sudden became very blurry. I went from very good vision one day to needing progressives the next day. At my eye exam, the specialist said it was odd that all of a sudden I have vision of a 40-50 year old. (I am in my early 30s).
On July 10, 2020 I woke up, showered and was attempting to pluck my eyebrows as well as putting on my eye makeup while looking into a 10X magnifying mirror and I suddenly realized I couldn’t see to do either…..extremely blurry vision. Went to optometrist right away and then my Primary Care Physician and neither of them could find anything wrong. I think I should and will go have the Coronavirus test. Have always worn mask in public since mid-March when asked to do so.
Did you ever find out what was wrong with your eyes? I work with someone who has the exact same issues with their eyes.
I started getting COVID symptoms three days ago fever, dizzy, lots of coughing. But what bothers me most is blurry vision. I have prescription eye glasses but I have such blurry vision now I can’t even read the channel numbers on TV and reading is difficult
I’ve been feeling like my head gets really warm my vision also has been getting blurry from time to time shortness of breath headaches I honestly dont know if I have it or not cause those symptoms have been coming and going for the past 5 days non of those symptoms are persistent but I do get them here and there
I noticed a small blurry vision. I was diagnosed to have COVID-19 today and I am feeling fadigue and tired, no fever, no short of breath (thank God) I vomited 2 days ago and I am kind of better now. I had a friend from Brasil sending me a list of ingredients to make my body resistance stronger. We need to pray to God to spare us from this desease and to make our bodies stronger taking away soft drinks and industrial foods. Bob bless all of you.
I have experienced blurry vision and deteriorated eyesight with this also. Started week two of covid symptoms…
Mine seem to start week two also, I also had been having these burning headaches where it hurt for my head to touch anything and I had a fever of 101. With the headache….
Did your vision recover?
Tina I am on day 10 of symptoms and my eyes are weird. I am Covid positive. My left eye has felt like it is sticking underneath. I developed Shingles on the right side of my face and in my ear nose & mouth. Placing my trust in Jesus to bring me through this! Hoping to see better tomorrow!
What ingriedients pls.?
Thnx
Ricardo, I guess that shoots my theory “that I couldn’t possibly have covid” all to hell and back. I rarely go in stores and when I do, I always wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer before and after leaving the store. I am the one that usually gives dirty looks to people without masks and if my test comes back positive, I’ll know they deserved those dirty looks. I was in an office with 2 men for months, but we were way more than 6 feet apart. I moved back to the main office–lots of people, but we all keep our distance and I am in a room by myself & we take turns sterilizing the office at the end of each day. I only leave my desk to go to restroom or check the mail. I’ve been fighting fatigue and extreme sleepiness (the kind where you sleep for 20 hours and are still tired) for over a week and a half. Did a tele-med appt. with my dr. last week and told her I thought it was because I was late with my b12 shot (which can make you feel like you’ve been hit by a semi). Now a week later (shot should have kicked in days ago), I am still extremely fatigued and sleepy. I always have headaches and diarrhea, so that wasn’t out of the norm for me, but now my eyeballs hurt and are very red, I have blurred vision and I just feel like doodoo. Never had any fever, shortness of breath or any of the MAIN symptoms (God forbid, I just jinxed myself). Anyway, I finally had to tell my job my dr. wanted me to get tested because they won’t see me (for other things going on) until I get a negative test back. I had the test done yesterday and they are letting me work from home, but hard to get anything done when you feel like crap. I’m just worried it will come back positive now and I will have been the first one in the office to get it (except of course possibly the JA that gave it to me that probably was just a carrier). *Sigh* I hope everyone gets to feeling better and has NO symptoms.
Hi Ricardo. I hope that God has helped you to make a complete recovery and you are feeling much better. Unfortunately, instead of being spared, this pandemic seems to have taken the world by storm. But in the Bible at Luke 21: 7-18, 25-28, God warned us of things that must happen in the last days. Verse 11 specifically says that pestilences or widespread deadly diseases would be one of those things that must occur. So even though God may not spare us right now, he does promise to do something about it in the future. Go to the following link to see what that is: https://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/questions/what-gods-kingdom-will-do/
Be well and stay safe.
Hi Ricardo I am Lisa and was diagnosed yesterday with having Covid19, I have a little blurry vision, 1 day of fever100.9 , was throwing up day before and now feeling great, I’m type2 Diabetic.
Please post the list of ingredients that you mentioned that made you feel better. Thank you!
bob bless you?
hi. my eyes hurt if i roll or move them. i have a low fever but still it scares the kyfe out of me.
could it be convid?
I’m considering if I have covid. I’m well apart from my eyes. For the past few weeks I’ve had pain in my right eye..watering in it..pain in my cheekbone, forehead and jaw..all on the right side..my sinus was also blocked and I was given antibiotics via a gp t/c..I’m now on day 3 of these..my eye symptoms are all I’m experiencing but I felt it was going into my left eye..itching..watery and blurry vision on and off..no temp or cough..or any other symptoms..I’m not really thinking the antibiotics are doing much tbh..so I was planning on a trip to my optometrist to get my eyes checked out properly..but now it’s just dawned on me I might have covid😱😱
I had Covid-19 in March along with conjunctivitis. It’s now June and my left eye has developed a conjunctivial cyst. It’s horrible. The white of my eye is yellow. My ophthalmologist said they had no indication that this cyst was related to Covid19, but I beg to differ. He told me to put cold compresses on it. But it still looks horrid.
Hi Bonnie
I was reading about your eye cyst. I had the same thing I absolutely believe it came from COVID and it was painful. I have used warm compresses on my eyes in the morning and evening. I did this by running hot water over a washrag. I ring out the washrag and place it over my eyes until the rag is no longer warm. I rinse the washrag and put it in the hamper and use a fresh cloth every time I go through this process. The cysts have finally gone thank goodness.
Hi Bonnie. I am 2 months out after having Covid and I have a cyst in my left eye that burst while I was driving. Everyone in my family has red eyes well after we tested negative. Eye doctors are calling it dry eye….to me it’s not a coincidence that it’s been a problem since contracting this virus. It’s frustrating.
Yes i had Covid 19 diagnosed May 1st 2020. I swore i must have fought it off for a month. I am 45 year old male have taken insulin for 30 years type 1 diabetes. Non smoker in good shape not overweight with no diabetes complications. Before Covid 19 i could read without magnifying glasses. Now i use readers 1.25. Before Covid 19 i started to squint now i need them for my iphone and ipad! My lungs were fine my first symptons were small fever below 100*, cloudy vision( later in day the worse) and then the EXTREME headaches. When i finally got the test i had slight pressure bottom of rib cage, fever over 100*, partial lost of taste(especially vanilla), drip in my nose when i ate and often i felt like a horse kicked me in the head! I went to my ophthalmolgist and he said eyes were fine! Chest X-ray was good heart is fine. Hopefully lab work that i get back by June 12th is good too.
Has your vision improved or worsened at all.
Both myself and a friend of mine had Covid. Neither of us wore reading glasses before but now its necessary. There is just some stuff, I cannot read anymore and I’m sure this is another side effect or ramification of it.
I never wore glasses prior to COVID – I was sick for 7 weeks. It wasn’t until I returned to work did I realize how bad my vision was. I needed my glasses to work on the computer and even then it was blurry. Today I went and had eye exam and had eyes dilated. I was told I need bifocals and I received a referral because the photos taken of my eye showed possible muscular drusen or possible exodates. Doctor said he could not confirm if this was COVID related. Well I know my body and how my vision was prior to being sick and what it is post COVID. I am 43 years old so he said my age can be part of it. I find it quite coincidental that after COVID everything is blurry but he says it could be my age. BS. Anyone else going through this?
I had COVID in late July in the last 2 months I have experienced blurred vision and cant read things I previously had no trouble reading with my glasses on… I am convinced there is some relation to the virus, its just too drastic a change in such a short time
I had a second onset of covid-19 and got completely different complications but I’ve had an ongoing eye infection since the first onset which was the first week of December 2020 now I’m in the first week of March. In the last two weeks my vision diminished greatly since I just recovered from a second strike of covid. Went to opthamologist can find nothing wrong but my eyes cannot see across the room how are you doing now with your eyes?
Awaiting covid results. But my first symptom was painful eyeballs (no color change or discharge) And chills. Nothing else. Then on day 2- malaise, still painful eyeballs ( no color change or discharge) and a ripping pain in my chest whenever i coughed which luckily wasn’t often. The eyeball pain continued. Then minor breathing problems, fatigue and a lot of sweating.
I’m better now- day 6. Still awaiting results. Eye pain has lessened. Chest pain is gone. Fatigue persists. A bit of coughing. This disease is quite sneaky and dangerous..
I’m experiencing the same issues with my eyes through Covid. It’s especially worse at night and hurts mainly when I look up/down and left/right. Probably the most annoying symptom so far. Like you, it was one of the first symptoms.
Did your pain with eye moment finish…How much time did it take to finish completely.plz reply
I had a day when I was really throwing up-in the toilet back in mid April-just for one day.I felt really dizzy for quite a few days afterwards and had strange flashes in the corner of my eyes as I was reading or looking out of the window.I worried that I would not be able to access an optician. Those flashes have now disappeared.
If you never had one before that sounds like you had a classic migraine. I have had migraines for over 20 years and get those symptoms.
When I had COVID-19 it started with pink eyes. Only later did I realise that with some patients it could be part of this disease. My problem is that after 2 months my eyesight especially in one eye deteriorated a lot. However, I also had a bad fall just before getting Covid-19 and hit my head quite badly. The vision problems may thus also be related to that accident.. Does anyone else experience vision loss after Covid?
Hi there,
Both of my parents had COVID 19 and they have both experienced vision loss as a result. My Dad”s is actually pretty severe.
I have had the Coronavirus and been isolated for 3wks now. My vision while I was in the hospital seemed to get worse espically in one eye. I kept cleaning my glasses over n over again but nothing helped. Then I realized it was my eyes… Havent gone to an eye doctor yet, waiting till im well.
This is exactly what I experienced. I tested negative in April, but was presumed positive for Covid as I had all the symptoms and was in bed for 3 weeks. Out of work for 3 months for prolonged fatigue and vision issues. Started about week 2, say early May. Felt my glasses were dirty and I had floaters. Been to the eye specialty hospital twice. They diagnosed posterior vitreous (eye gel) detachment but don’t understand why my eye is blurred (should be just floaters). The blurriness keeps worsening, my vision is deteriorating quickly in the right eye, and I get headaches and sometimes eye aches. Going for a vision check next week but I shouldn’t be due yet for new glasses prescription. Very worried about the deteriorating eye sight.
Hi Ann I hope you are doing better. I am experiencing the same issues with my right eye. Was told it is related to the visterious gel becoming liquid like. I had dark floaters that went away but still have blurry spots. I had covid 2 months ago. Have your eyes improved? Did you ever get help?
Is your eyesight better?
My vision has deteriorated I got corvid 19 back in November and I was so ill felt like I was going to lose my life.
I think I am. I’ve been negative of Covid for a few days and Now all of a sudden my eyes are extremely blurry and very hazy
Hi,
I do not get someting:
“CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a face mask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.”
So, why personal medical on the front line vs. corona virus wear masks?
I had covid-19. I had the most agonizing pain in my eyeballs, ears, skull bones, and my eyes kept producing lots of sand. Any ideas on why??
Brigid, my eyes hurt, if I move them it’s agony. Very grainy and my head hurts..just a bit of a cough. I’m petrified. I have stomach issues too. And cannot sleep.
Wow I’m experiencing the same thing
Me too but only painful eyes not grainy. Low grade fever comes and goes.
My right eye is running, won’t stop
I have the same symptoms.. eyes sore and fever…highest temp 100.9
D I had a off and on low-grade fever will 99.3 what’s the highest and now for the past 3 days my eyes have been kind of blurry I’m just aggravating they don’t hurt but I have the coldest test on Friday so I’ll find out on Tuesday because I have breast reconstruction surgery after cancer and April so I sure hope I don’t have it I need to get the surgery finished my eyes hurt like crap and they’re blurry did you ever find out why yours are like that
I have covid 19 and my vision gets blurry to no existent every time I get up or move to fast. Is this normal? Will it return once I shake this god willing? Or is this a sign it’ll get worse?
I have the same issue. I m scared because my vision is so bad now Im afraid to drive, then the dizziness.
How are you feeling now? I have the same issue
I’m waiting for Covid test results, have a cough slight fever, watery eyes and now I’m experiencing blurry vision I can’t see very well is this normal
What was the outcome after your visit?? I have the same symptoms 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Me too I had a covid test Friday for surgery wensday I hope It’s negative but low fever off and on and blurred vision for 5 days
I am waiting as well for results and I feel weak and see blury
I have covid and noticed a sudden deterioration in my vision. I am fine inside but street signs are blurry. Very odd.
I am recovered, I had it in March and I had this symptom too. I know of one other, there’s three of us!
David, did this go away? I am experiencing this now in one eye as well. Everything is blurry in one eye – but only far away… Cannot read far away signs or small letters
I have covid 19 and my vision gets blurry to no existent every time I get up or move to fast. Is this normal? Will it return once I shake this god willing? Or is this a sign it’ll get worse?
Watery eyes lately especially when wearing the mask????
My husband thought he had covid late Dec with dry hacking cough and feeling awful beforehand. He has had blurred vision and some double vision since then. Meds maybe but never had that before . they question myasthenia gravis now
Do you still have blurred vision?
I’m assuming that if you have the virus it can effect the white part of the eye ball making it look yellowish and red along with the other systems. The white part of my eyes have been like this for weeks now thankfully I m not showing any other systems like coughing and breathing problems. I am dizzy put the white part of my eyes is what caused me to take a closer look at what this virus is doing if iv been exposed or not.
My daughter’s eyes started watering and itching anf started to mat shut do I need to be worried. I am a diabetic
I’m a seventy-one year old woman. Over 2 weeks ago, I noticed that the white part of one of my eyes was pink and there was some discharge. I got in to see my optometrist who gave me drops that were anti-bacterial. As the pinkness subsided in one eye, it then moved to the other. I’ve been in complete isolation for the whole time I had this pink eye and it has pretty well disappeared.
I did not have any other symptoms of the Corona virus- no fever or cough. Today, I watched an interview on CNN where the nurses at the senior home in Washington state said this ‘red eye’ was a symptom they noticed in many of the patients who suffered from this virus.
I’d never heard that this eye condition might be, in some way, connected to the Corona virus.
What do you think?
sandy i m also red eye.. one i infected..i am scared..
Just Saw the nurses from Washington state nursing home. They said most patients had red eyes but not the normal red eye. Said it was almost like red eye shadow
My eyes are red and watery and sometimes it feels like I have sand in them
Is it ok to use an eye wash daily to clean and refresh eyes….Advanced Eye Relief – Bausch+Lomb
I woke up today with a bright red streak in my left eye, after having a bad cough and wheezing but no fever for several weeks. I haven’t been tested for coronavirus, but I’m wondering what the dangers are to my eye and my vision if left untreated.
my left eye is red not to much nd today i also start counting
My son coughed in my eye about 10-14days ago, it burned like acid i had to give eye water bath. I then got sick. I have been much worse than rest of family. My eyes have stung watered and been sensitive to light for whole virus so far. Im on day 6
Hang in there…. ❤🙏❤
I accompanied someone to a medical appointment and kept hearing “red-eye” asked as a symptom (of him and several subsequent patients checking in.) Now I realize they meant what I’ve always heard called “Pinkeye” = Conjunctivitis.
The eye connection makes no sense. How can a virus get into the lungs from the eyes??
My daughter had a bad case of conjunctivitis along with what we thought was the flu. This was a month ago, her doctor never tested her for the flu and I’m convinced now it was Covid-19.
It is an opening to the body just like the mouth and nose. The virus could be on hands and then you touch any of those three areas.
its connected to the respiratory system, when you cry you nose waters… eyes nose and mouth are gateways for the virus
The same way it does if it enters your nose or your mouth.
Thank you for clear information.
My vision has become blurry and it is not as sharp as it once was ! About 3. Weeks now !
Hi Pam, did this get better?
