- What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I am a SCUBA dive instructor and have volunteered for research diving world-wide. - What’s a common question you get from patients?
“How long will I require treatments?” Unfortunately, unless there is a durable cure for certain conditions (diabetes, lupus, macular degeneration, cardiovascular problems, etc.), the treatments can be periodic but lifelong. I encourage patients to instead focus on how the treatments are saving their vision and preventing eventual blindness though, which is amazing. - Favorite memory from work?
I love discussing life with my patients and my coworkers. I get to peek into how other people cope with their setbacks and celebrate their joys. - Where are you from?
I was born in San Rafael, California, raised in the northern California west Bay Area, but was fortunate to spend a few formative years in Sierra Leone, West Africa. - What do you like to do when you aren’t seeing patients?
Cuddle our rescue pugs, cook, sing, garden. - Who are your favorite sports teams?
Go 49ers! - What does your job entail?
Saving vision, preventing blindness, offering hope. This is through injecting chemotherapy into eyeballs, administering laser and performing vitreoretinal surgeries. - What is a typical day like?
Up at 5 am, 1.5 hour of pug dog chores, exercise then full clinic vs. clinic/operating room, home usually in time to cook dinner, bed by 8:30 pm. - What do you like most about your job?
Great coworkers, patient smiles, the feeling that I am making a positive difference in people’s lives.

Love Dr. Teasley and her PA Monique. I’ve been under their care since December 15 and feel I have the best care in the world! Dr. Teasley did surgery on my right eye repairing my retina and successfully closed a hole in my macula. I haven’t fully recovered but feel I’m getting close. Will forever be indebted to those two very professional Ladies!
